DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) Can I do some fluffy links even if it’s not Friday? Sure I can, it’s good to share……
so here goes:

Runners World do kit lists and here’s one for (beginner?) adventure racers. I reckon there’s a lot more stuff involved for the serious AR heads but it looks like a good start, no?

Secondly someone on the IMRA forum pointed to this as a training tool: Attack Point is a “performance and training tool for orienteering athletes”. They say it’s great for sharing training data and motivating others. I might try this as a kind of experiment? If you’re already using it, let us know what you think. According to the site:

Your log can be a powerful motivator, since it helps introduce structure and accountability to your training.

Mmmmh.

And finally just for a good read head over to A Trail Runners Blog: it does exactly as it says on the tin. It’s a blog about trail running by runner/ triathlete Scott Dunlap. I’ve only just come across this one and love it so far. I really enjoy American trail running blogs, they have so many ultras and marathons on varied terrains/ distances/ weather systems. Lucky them…… ;-)

Ooh and watch out for the Mooathon this weekend! We warned ya……

-Aisling-

(Image is one of my own from Tibradden, it’s in keeping with the trail running link……..) ;-)

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) - I’m back in Dublin this weekend, flying back to London at 4.30am. Here’s some tidbits for Monday morning.

Michael Reardon has still not been found. Navy are diving in the bay tomorrow to check the seabed if conditions allow.

A girl was pulled from the sea at Cush point in Howth on Friday night. I understand she has recovered well.

a girl had just been taken from the water and appeared to be unconscious on the beach.

Check out the Donegal Creameries Mooathon, A 13.1 mile road race “Of pure madness”.

The wildest, most fun Half-Marathon you will ever do!
And an excellent warm up race for the adidas Dublin Marathon

Race Date: 30th September 2007

And embedded above - there’s a good SAR action video from the US Coastguard.
