<p>BANGKOK, THAILAND (Team Geared Up) - So our incredible &#8220;<a href="http://blog.teamgearedup.com/2007/10/base-jumping-when-does-it-get-too-dangerous.html">When does Base Jumping Get Too Dangerous</a>&#8221; post when viral, hi UKClimbing.com, hi AcidDog Forums, hi others! You brought a lot of traffic! Based on this obsessing, I&#8217;ve done a Top 5 worst Base Jumping Accidents videos to join our <a href="http://blog.teamgearedup.com/2007/08/video-top-5-mountain-bike-crashes.html">Top 5 Mountain Biking Crashes</a>, <a href="http://blog.teamgearedup.com/2007/09/video-top-5-bungy-jumping-accidents.html">Top 5 Bungy Jump Accidents</a> &#038; <a href="http://blog.teamgearedup.com/2007/09/video-top-5-alternative-snowboarding-crashes.html">Top 5 Snowboarding Alternative Crashes</a>.</p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>At #5 - When your mate opens their chute underneath you - it will never be pretty.</p>
<p><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_xugiXGKU5o"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_xugiXGKU5o" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>At #4 - Very low jump from an Aerial. Not much room for error here!</p>
<p><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2d8IFeW2Moo"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2d8IFeW2Moo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>At #3 - When cycling off a cliff, remember to actually pull your chute. Winded? Broken Ribs?</p>
<p><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4M0ps-anMP0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4M0ps-anMP0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>At #2 - This is not safe for work (NSFW), but here&#8217;s what happens when you get blown into a dam you&#8217;ve just jumped off. Amazingly he crawls out. Notice the similarities in sounds - winded? Broken Ribs?</p>
<p><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-8_6qVNHFhA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-8_6qVNHFhA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>At #1 - Scary! But clearly the commentator is a very experienced BASE Jumper &#8220;After the rescuer clips her into his harness, if her chute rips, they&#8217;ll both die&#8221;&#8230; how so!?</p>
<p><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rwfupzQ1NvM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rwfupzQ1NvM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>**TGU Bonus clip** - The Lowest Base Jump Ever!</p>
<p><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/u0Vw9ihwbwA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/u0Vw9ihwbwA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>Now, how was that? Heart going a little faster?</p>

<p>LONDON, UK (Team Geared Up) - Bungy Jumping is an activity linked to many an outdoor person for the adrenaline, backpacking in NZ, thrill rush, and links to climbing in terms of safety equipment. For this reason, we thought we&#8217;d bring you the top 5 bungy accidents as caught on video. I can&#8217;t stress enough though, if you use a professional provider, not a holiday resort pool-side offer, then any chances of injury are really nil. I was so impressed with the professionalism when I did a jump.</p>
<p>In fifth place&#8230; best to get some height first!<br />
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tsNhip4KX34"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tsNhip4KX34" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object></p>
<p>In forth Place&#8230; if they give you a seatbelt, tighten it! (tandem reverse bungy)<br />
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3m5I7985QC0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3m5I7985QC0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object></p>
<p>In Third Place&#8230; best to bungy from a fixed object, not from a paraglider! (stunt).<br />
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NtEskFKQilk"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NtEskFKQilk" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object></p>
<p>In Second Place&#8230; best to tie the elastic on at the other end!<br />
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OWxmyslyMA8"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OWxmyslyMA8" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object></p>
<p>In First Place&#8230; best not to tie the bungy around your neck! (hope this guy survived).<br />
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/irloeEUDxCc"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/irloeEUDxCc" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object></p>
<p>I hope those didn&#8217;t scare you to jump&#8230; it really is a great experience! TGU recommened <a href="http://www.ajhackett.com/">A.J. Hackett</a> for all your bungy needs!</p>

<p>LONDON, UK (Team Geared Up) - <a href="http://www.getoutdoors.com/goblog/index.php?/archives/2175-Skydiver-Michel-Fournier-Attempts-To-Break-Sound-Barrier.html">GO Blog</a> points to a 63yr old Frenchman plans to head-first freefall from the edge of space in dizzying bid to break Mach 1 but he must wear a special suit to ensure his body fluids don&#8217;t boil. He will leap head-first from a weather balloon 25 miles above Earth and plummet at more than 1,000mph (He needs to break 330 meters per second to break the sound barrier!). He will face external temperatures of minus 100c while inside his carbon-fibre suit it will be a stifling 65c due to the atmosphere.</p>
<p>As he goes up in a weather balloon he hopes to break three more world records - for the longest sky dive, the highest parachute jump and the highest altitude achieved by a human in a balloon. The record for highest leap was set in 1960 by a U.S. Air Force test pilot, at just under 20 miles. </p>
<blockquote><p>After leaping from the balloon, Fournier believes he will break the 760mph sound barrier within 37 seconds.</p>
<p>The lack of friction due to the thinness of the air will mean he can attain a much higher terminal velocity, and his team of scientists estimate he will reach the top speed of 1,113mph before he is slowed down by greater air resistance.</p></blockquote>
<p>To give you an idea of just how high this is, his parachute will not open <strong>until 6 minutes &#038; 25 seconds</strong> after jumping!</p>
<p>This is one of the crazier records I&#8217;ve heard yet!</p>
