Wicklow Way Record Attempt by Eoin Keith |

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) It should hopefully be another record breaking weekend for Irish mountain running, as ultra runner and adventure racer and controversial forum poster (!!!) Eoin Keith makes an attempt on the record for the fastest completion of the Wicklow Way (phew long sentence, never mind run…) ;-)
The current record is 18 hours, 24 minutes, 54 seconds and is held by Simon Walters. That’s a cracking record for 127 kilometres but it’s probably about time to see it go!! :-)
Best of luck Eoin, we’ll be rooting for ya…
I’m off on another alpine adventure to watch the Irish team in the World Mountain Running Chmapionships…see ya next week!!

Eoin has not only broken the record. He has smashed it.
13 hours 46 minutes and 1 second!
Terrific achievement. It will take some beating.
I’m a happy man today after that run. I’ll put a full report on the run together soon, I hope!
As an aside, I was able to date that photograph of me by the bumps and bruises on my leg as being shortly after the Turas. The results of falling down a gorse-camoflaged hole approaching the Jumar section in the jungles of the gap of Dunloe. The things we do for fun!
