Team Geared Up

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) Well it looks like they didn’t treat it as the “holiday” that Richard Donovan described because Irish men John O’ Regan and Roy Galvin have only gone and WON the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu marathon. We’ve only just got word and there’s no results up just yet but it must have been the most incredible adventure! Here’s a description of the route from the organisers…

We begin our mountain marathon on the ancient Inca trail that leads to the legendary lost city of Machu Picchu - an extraordinary adventure into the history of the grand Inca civilization. Along the way, we explore the intriguing ruins of Inca fortresses, and enjoy the expansive views from the high passes. Descending to the Sun Gate and Machu Picchu, the cloud forest trail becomes increasingly lush and varied.

Picture that when you’re running the Cork City Marathon this monday!
