CHICAGO (Team Geared Up) - Kicking off what will be my weekly post on teamgearedup.com. I’ll be writing about all kind of stuff related to trail/endurance/adventure running: gear reviews, training tips, races, etc. All in a quick “link and short description” format that will hopefully help to discover new interesting sites and people. For those of you who would like to read more about this, trailrunningsoul.com is the site that I run where you will find a lot more.
On this my first post I’m putting together a list of four awesome videos that have been waiting forever to be posted on my site. They can’t be embedded into another page so it was kind of difficult to add them in an easy format. Here we go:
- 100 km of Namib Desert: 108 km in 4 days running through the desert.
- GORE-TEX Transalpine-Run: 300km trail run over the Alps. Scroll down to the categories section on the homepage to watch the video.
- The Libyan Challenge: the name says it all. A master trek in the Libyan desert. To watch the videos go to Results 2008 -> Videos on the left menu.
- Teva Mountain Games 2007: several outdoor sports videos from competitions happening in the Colorado festival (this year’s dates are June 5-8)
Hope you like them!
[Update 11/05/08]: here goes another great video: The Routeburn Classic 38K, an adventure race in New Zealand this weekend

Ed - what a great post! Off to watch all those videos now!
That Trans Alp run looks absolutely incredible! The snow and the sun and the views and just the landscape….WOW! I’m wondering if that’s the run that TGU commenter Grainne is training for?
hmmm yes thats the one Ais, although after yesterdays so called “little” adventure race I’m left mentally scarred of all things mountainous, so much so I was thinking of e-mailing them and asking for my money back :-(
How did it go yesterday for you Grainne? Tony and Rachel were unhappy to miss a Cut Off and were short coursed, very disappointed.
I’d love to do one of these races. The Trans-alp seems a great one though way favorite on this list is the Namib one. All these exotic races keep saying “come with us, come with us…” (read with an “sect-like chant” intonation :) If only I was fit enough…
Ah, I just added a new video to the list: Routeburn, in New Zealand
