DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) Some photos from last Wednesday’s IMRA Hellfire race are here. And really really well organised it was too I can tell ya!!!! ;-) We raised over 200 euro for Women’s Aid with the TGU bars!
Apologies for being too busy to be taking more photos but you’ll get a sense of what the event was like from an excellent race report by blogger and mountain runner Mark McLoughlin, whose own blog Out and About is well worth a visit! Race was won by Barry Minnock in 22 minutes (that’s me with Barry in the photo) and Mags Greenan, my clubmate, in her first mountain race!
Barry was last year’s winner of the Irish Adventure Challenge, which this year is An Turas Beag, happening this weekend. Best of luck to all those taking part, I saw Aaron O’ Donoghue (Barry’s partner for the event last year) taking it easy at Wednesday’s race in preparation. Tony Kiernan and Rachel Cinseallach are winging their way that direction as we speak so big well wishes to them too!
Also happening this weekend are organised recces of leg 7 of the Wicklow Way Relay and the route of the Ballybraid race for the Leinster Championships. Both are good long runs if you’re looking for a training session… :-) Hopefully see you out there!
