Adventure Racing and Mountain Running Events this weekend: Cuchulain Challenge and Black Mountain |

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) Our girly team of adventure racers are raging we’re missing Causeway Coast’s event this weekend: the Cuchulain Challenge. We just didn’t get our act together on time for all that would be involved. Here’s what it’s all about:
The CuChulain Challenge is a relay event using only human power to negotiate a course of up to 300 km in counties Donegal, Derry and Antrim in the North of Ulster. It is not just an event for super-fit athletes (though we’ll hopefully have a few in it) but it is aimed at people who consider themselves to be fit, and competent at navigating in the outdoors. The best qualification for this event is a love of the outdoors and wild places.
Good luck to everyone taking part. I can see this event becoming huge; it has all the makings of a classic involving mountain bike, running, road bike, swimming, kayaking and whatever else the enterprising organisers care to throw at you. I’ll probably be heading north for the IMRA Leinster Championship race up Black Mountain. It’s about time I stopped milking the “recovering from a marathon” excuse……
Whatever you’re at in the great outdoors this weekend, enjoy! :-)
