Bungee Jump Using Condoms |
DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) Those of you who read the metro like myself will have already seen this in Tuesdays paper but i thought it was worth a mention anyway. Carl Dionisio tied 18,500 out of date condoms together to make the bungee cord. I didn’t think it would be that bad a stunt to do over maybe water but he did it off a shopping centre so if it had failed, that was surely the end of him?
Dionisio on his jump:
“It took us four months to make the rope. He said he was not concerned that the rope would be strong enough. “Latex is latex. But the cord was based on a mathematical formula and although I was 99 percent sure that it would work, my stomach was in a knot for a month before the jump.”

1. Condoms are 98% effective when used correctly.
I don’t know where Dionisio got his data for 99% and I’m not sure the condoms were being used correctly.
How come he had so many out of date condoms??
He must not have had much luck with his chat up routines! Tony Mangan.
brilliant story!
Yeah and those free papers cover more adventure stories than the national press! Great photo yesterday of someone kite-surfing (I think that’s what it’s called) on a Dublin beach.
