Hmm, tough one. I just hit shuffle on the indie&rock playlist on my ipod - too lazy to think about specific tracks to listen to!

Ken and Stu they're great playlists! I'm gonna add them to my tunes! Robin and Richard I totally agree about the great outdoors, we should be listening to what's around us, it's part of the buzz. For the gym though I go nuts without it. I've been doing some of my easy one hour runs in the gym and doing circles round a 200 metre track will make you crazy without some tunes to get you through it and the gym always plays the same old sh*te over their loudspeaker!

The Rocky soundtrack is exactly the right kinda thing to get you moving....picturing yourself running up those steps......

Hi guys,

don't think you can go wrong with the new Rocky soundtrack - it's totally cheesy - but Eye of the Tiger still has what it takes to make you press the 'up' button on the treadmill. the new version has some clips of dialogue from the film (which is bad by the way) but how can you not give it everything when you have Rocky in your ears telling you "It's not about how many times you hit, it's about how many times you can get hit and keep going forward"
I've tried various sets of headphones and i-pod holders for running outside, but I reckon it's best to listen to your breathing, the birds in the trees and the idling of cars as you fill your lungs with their toxic emissions .....

I used to never be able to run without music to pace to. Then as I got onto nicer routes and into the enjoyment of the running I couldn't bare to have music - enjoyed hearing the ground beneath me and being aware of my surroundings more.

Back on a treadmill know while in Singapore and - back with music. I cannot stare at myself running in a mirror for more than 15mins without something to concentrate on in the ears.

Not sure if I have a playlist - but I am guaranteed to finish any push if I turn this on. My mind just blanks and forgets about the legs.
