DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) 600 miles cycling around Ulster seems like a long way. But with no gears?? Well they’re doing it for charity so we’ll forgive their madness this time….

This year sees the re-launch of The Ulster Way, a 600-mile long-distance loop route around Northern Ireland, linking the current way-marked ways (75% of the route) together with minor-road link sections.

Tango & Cash are attempting to complete the entire route in six days, starting on Saturday 3 May 2008, all under our own steam, on foot and our single-speed mountain-bikes.

Maybe some of us will join you for a few miles….

Good grief - you got there before I did, Aisling! I was going to drop you a note about this. Thanks for the plug, and for the implication that we are doing the whole thing on mountain-boards! :-o haha

We will publish our itinerary in a week or 2, and then we look forward to the hoards joining us! Tumbleweeds will probably be our only company.

600 miles on single speed, now that should be a challenge for yous!!! You make people who have full suspension and expensive carbon bikes look right softies..

was looking at your blog the other evening and was wondering what type of bikes did you use for the transalps??

We both had On On InBred 456’s, with their fancy comfy swept-back ‘Mary’ bars, for a bit of an experiment.

Not the lightest beasts in the world, but they have gone on to take lots of general abuse there and since, with not even a whimper of complaint. Great bikes, and our single-speed bikes are both On One bikes as well.
