Olympus µ[mju:] 790 SW ‘Tough’ Camera |
SINGAPORE (Team Geared Up) - So mass media advertising still works! I’ve been watching stupid ads over here in Asia for the Olympus µ[mju:] 790 SW ‘Tough’ and you know what, I want one.
I currently carry a Canon EOS 400D with me everywhere I go, and while it gives me unbelievable photos that I love, and love using it, it is heavy.
In the mountains, heavy=bad, and my only other option is a cameraphone (not such a bad option these days with live uploads). But you know what - I want a waterproof, shockproof, rainproof, tough, cheap-enough camera that I can take anywhere. In my pocket kayaking, running, adventure racing, mountain biking, etc. For the times when you’re not absolutely sure you’ll need a camera but it would be nice to have one.
This is is now on my wishlist, I’m going to try get one this weekend. Are you adding it to yours?

Got one at Christmas. Good so far. Haven’t tested it the surf yet though. Had it skiing. Great size for your pocket and put up with me going on my ear a few times.

I use that camera and find it good but would prefer if it had a view finder rather than just an LCD as bright sunlight can make it hard to see what you’re snapping. Not sure about freeze proof LCD but can tell you the battery goes dead very quickly if the camera body is exposed to cold. Can lose a full charge very quickly!

i was wondering if you guys know the title of the song in the ad for this camera? anybody? it’s been stuck in my head and yes, mass media advertising does work especially with that song now stuck in my head and images of that camera floating in my mind. thanks once again!
