add me on twitter too! ALXtreme

cool! I raved about Jaiku last year when in my previous life in the Real World.
Much more thoughtful than Twitter and when it intergrated properly into your address book, it was awesome.
Now that I have to pay for my phone bill however, I won’t be using it anytime soon :)

you know you can use it via IM? G-talk/Jabber. I have never used it on a phone yet. IM & Web only for me.

Just had a great idea.

If you join the #tgu channel you now get all comments from the site and boards posts into your instant message client!

works well.

I feel left out now, you’re all over there. :-(
Better check it out……

Most of the entire Irish Twitter lot seemed to have moved.

back again on this as I’ve just been writing on it elsewhere.

The neat feature was that you got a Google Talk-type status on your mobile phone (i.e. green/orange/red depending on your status - it was dependent on your mobile’s sound profile - red if all notifications are turned off, amber if on ’silent’, and green if volume cranked up, etc.). You can do all that other funkiness like update your status and all that (including it giving vague location status based on mobile phone transmitters - names for each area were filled in by the user and shared amongst your contacts meaning they’re relevant to the users), but we never bought into that on the mobile - I just found it brilliant that people knew not to contact me on my phone at times by phone and send a text (e.g. if I’ve my profile set to ‘meeting’, I used to get a text message instead from them).
And as I now see that Google have bought Jaiku, who’s willing to bet that we see Google Talk showing up on our mobile’s soon as a direct integration……..

Only bad experience? Firstly, data is heavy so you can have a nasty phone bill (my personal best in one month while working for one of the telcos was almost €900 - the joys of an unlimited bill ;) and your battery takes a pounding - expect to charge your mobile every night if this ever takes off!

900!!! oh wow!

yeh - don’t think I’d get away with that.
