Review of Adidas TechAir Jacket
Rated as /5 on Aug 13 2007 by Alex Cahiz

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND (Team Geared Up) - This is pretty much an internet exclusive of the new innovative jacket by Adidas because you won’t find it any where else online. Originally an exclusive to the popular UK published tech magazine, T3, there isn’t even a picture of it online. Luckily a buddy of mine forwarded me to a scan of the T3 page.
This jacket seems pretty average in its regular state but pay close attention to the right shoulder and you will see a special valve. Designed for you to blow your own hot air into the jacket the valve has two buttons to open and close the valve to keep in or release the air. Its said to give you a an extra bit of insulation without a fancy battery powered electronic warmer technology that makes the jacket cost as much as laptop. It also gives you the sensation of what a car wheel must feel like when air is being pumped into a tire.

I cant remember exactly what i saw earlier this year in France but it was a jacket that had a similar system in built. One of the big ski manufacturers(possibly rossignol) on the continent but i cant remember the name.. Robin might? Alpe d’Huez mall…
We saw a very similar one in Alpe D’Huez, you’re right. You blew in to puff up the down? and to put in warmth. The mouth piece was identical, but the jacket wasn’t that one nor was it adidas.
Bet you see those on the streets of NY in weeks!
ill have to find it when it comes out and see if its a gimmick or really worth the extra few clams for the blow tube
were can i order 1 of these jackets, my e-mail address is kylejones76@hotmail.com
dude kyle did you read the post? adidas don’t even have it on their own site. besides that magazine article exclusive, no one knows anything about the jacket. trust me I’ve looked around. keep watching our site i’ll do another post when there’s more info or when it’s available.
The jacket looks great. But i’m just wondering has it been designed as an outdoor jacket or a gimmick for people to use in the streets? As far as i know(could well be wrong) i’ve never seen adidas with gore-tex/event in any of their jackets. So are they going to be heading in this direction also? Because from that photo it looks like a shell jacket…
Price confirmed. Under €400, pretty good price.

yeah see I saw that before and im not sure if that is the same jacket because this one is techfit and the other one is hiking men summit. they are both softshell but they could actually be different jackets
I have tried every sports retailer in the south of England and can’t get one of these things. Apparently JD, Adidas stores and Harrods are the only stockists and I have called 17 stores today and only the Adidas store on Oxford Street have had any stock. I am about to give up!!!!!
I got me one of those TECHFIT airvantage jackets by adidas. And I must say it looks really, really cool. Also the technology is amazing and for a resonable price.
cheers

Awesome Jeff!! Think you could send us some pictures/video of it? Like before and after you blow air into it and of any other bells and whistles on it? It’d be much appreciated!
Still looking to purchase this jacket - cant find anything either. If the retailer in the UK sells it - anyone want to put an ebay auction and notify me?

I saw this jacket for sale at Adidas’ new Tokyo shop in Ginza.
It’s really well-made, modern design and perfect for going out on the town as well. They only had a size “S” available unfortunately. Does anyone know where I can get a size “L” or “XL”?
Thanks,
Al Parvez
