Mooathon

Written by aislingc

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) The way it is today people, no one wants to run an ordinary everyday bog standard road race anymore. There has to be an edge to it. Whether it’s the spectacular views or atmosphere of Connemara, or a hike up a mountain as fast as your legs will take you, there has to be something different to attract the new generation of runners. Here’s one that seems to have hit the nail firmly on the head; the 2007 Mooathon which Robin posted about here.

It’s a half marathon in Donegal being held at the end of September, good timing for any Dublin Marathon trainees. Race Director Sean at Irishfit tells us that people are travelling from far and wide:

Sweden, Malawi, America, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Australia.
At this time we now have 6 times more entrants than we had at this
date last year.
I believe there are a couple of rooms still available in the official
race hotel but again I would advise booking soon if you will be
staying overnight.
Also to help us from an admin point of view the more entries we have
before the end of July the better we can plan for ordering t-shirts
etc.

Better get the entries in fast!
