Team Geared Up

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) This event has without doubt become the best Mountain Running event of the year! Every year without fail there is cracking weather, great atmosphere, fierce competition and great get-together afterwards, all put together by Joe Lalor of IMRA. For those who don’t know it’s 120k, through 8 legs across the Wicklow hills.
Here’s a photo of the speedy start that I took on my phone and mobile blogged to my personal blog! Can’t you just imagine how fast they’re going, and at 7am in the morning!

Our ladies team finished 12th, with 5 of the 8 recording the fastest womens times of the day on their legs and another the second fastest! Our mixed team finished in the medals with a 3rd placing, which was something else considering they weren’t anywhere near third when I saw them at the end of leg 1! (A bit of blogging about us girls here).

The event was won by the Rathfarnham A team and second was Sli Cualann. Commiserations to the team called Ten Hours or Bust who came in at 10:01!
