Wet, Wet, Wet |
DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) Where did all the sunshine go? My tan was comning along nicely till this cold, wet, miserable grey spell arrived. Alright for you canoeists, less alright for those of us wanting to do a nightime reconaissance run tonight for our Wicklow Round training. Bad weather doesn’t normally put me off running but we have some fast moving rivers to cross so that’s a big NO from me.
Instead I will focus on Sundays run up Lugnaquillia, Leinsters highest mountain.
This race is a trial for the Irish team for the European Mountain Running Championships on 8th July but more importantly for us it’s a national Club Championships. That’s means another outing for the super Clonliffe female mountain runners, in a big show of force!
I don’t know who the main contenders in the mens trial will be but I’d imagine the likes of Gary Crossan and Barry Minnock will feature strongly. In the womens there will be a contingent from the North hoping to do well, so we’ll just have to wait and see!
