Our Readers: Trying To Find Ourselves |
EDITORS NOTES (Team Geared Up) - Hi readers. TGU have had a few debates between ourselves of late about who reads us and who we’re targetting. We know we get over 40,000 visitors per month and we want to know more about our regulars, and suspect that many of you know each other in the offline world.
This will probably flop horribly and make us look like we’ve no friends - and you don’t need to leave a real name if you’re a closet outdoor enthusiast who doesn’t want anyone else to know. But please - leave a little bio about yourself in the comments below.
I’ll start us off…

Ireland
Scotland
Wales
England
France
Switzerland
Italy
USA

Hi,
Richard Oakley - reporter with the Sunday Times in Dublin in Ireland. Am into mountaineering, running, rock and ice climbing, cycling, mountain running and the like. Try to write as many stories about outdoors stuff when not concentrating on politics. Check your site all the time to see if any stories pop up that I should check out. Also check to see if some of the paper’s are catching people’s attention. Of late we covered the story of the Red Bull base jumper’s tour of Ireland and did the first piece on Ian McKeever’s record bid. Keep up the good work!
Richard - great to have you as a reader. We’re trying to focus a little more on the Irish endeavours these days - hopefully you’ll quote in an article one day!

Hi Robin,
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that is commonly described as dance-fight-game and incorporates elements of acrobatics, music and ultimately the mastery of trickery when playing the game.
I got into skydiving about two years ago when I did a tandem skydive at the Irish Parachute Club in Co.Offaly and I have been happily jumping out of planes, helicopters and in wind tunnels since. I am currently learning to freefly.
