DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) Tomorrow sees the running of the annual Wicklow Way relay with about 28 teams of up to 8 people running across 120k of the famous route. I think we’re making history as the first all-female team to compete, as we have 8 Clonliffe harriers mountain running girls all set to go. If we don’t make the top ten I’ll eat that toe nail necklace.

Amazon are letting us know that the DVD Everest: Man Vs Mountain is being released Monday, over 30 years after the events it’s based on.
In 1976 two British soldiers completed the first successful all military expedition to the summit of Everest. To celebrate this endeavour, the Army return 30 years later to conquer Everest once more. The plan: To tackle the peak via the treacherous “West Ridge”, a notoriously dangerous climb that has only been completed by 19 people
And don’t forget tonight at 9pm on TG4, the documentary about Triathlon brothers Art and Eimhin Mac Manusa. Archie O’ Donnell, brother of documentary maker Richie, has even invited you to a party to celebrate!

don’t do it!! don’t do it! (The toenail necklace!)
Good luck tomorrow. I’d have fairly high bets you girls come in top 3.
There’s two very serious Rathfanham teams expected to do well and there’s a good challenge from a Clonliffe team. It will be hotly contested!
The Rathfarnham A team won, Sli Chulainn (spelling?) were second and our Clonliffe Mixed team were third, so great achievement for them, they clawed back lots of places in the later stages.
Our all female Clonliffe team came 12th. We’re chuffed, all members ran their socks off, with faster times than expected in almost every case.
When I get the full results I’ll post them with some of my mobile blogged photos!
I should learn when to shut up…..
