Written by eoinod

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Geared Up Blog) - With the first big adventure race of the new year coming up in the form of The Adventure Racing World Championships, we look ahead to see who will be fighting it out at the top of the leaderboard. Team Nike will inevitably be fighting it out although they have lost 2 key members from last years squad in the form of Ian Adamson who has retired and Richard Ussher who has travelled back to New Zealand. Although in their captain, Mike Kloser, they possess a man who has won and raced all the top events the world has to offer. Ussher travelled home to rekindle Team Balance Vector, the World Champions from 2005 and with legendary Nathan Fa’avae back in the fold surely they won’t be underestimated. Mr.Ussher will also be joined by newly wedded wife Elina Ussher.

2-time winners of the event, Aberdeen Asset Management should also be challenging for high places on home soil. The Irish Adventure Racing Team are sending 2 te-ams to the event. Eoin Keith,Vanessa Lawrenson,Paul Mahon and Roisin Mcdonnell will be competing as IrishAR Denny and Paul Mcarthur, Moire O’Sullivan,Bob Boles and Chris Caulfield will go under the name of IrishAR Ballyfree.
