Climbing: Ton Sai Thailand Notes |
LONDON, UK (Team Geared Up) - Irish climber Neal McQuaid has reported in from the road again (Now in Oz) with his climbing guide for Ton Sai in Thailand.
Thailand. Pristine white sand beaches and a laid-back atmosphere. There’s no other way describes this place. If you’re looking for something that includes a bit more than your usual climbing holiday (i.e. get up, climb, sleep, repeat) this is definitely up there. Snorkeling, kayaking, sunbathing, scooters, perfect sunsets, this place has it.
So it’s a bit far from Ireland, but if you’re looking for something a little different to the Euro crags, give it a thought.
Neal’s an experienced Irish climber, and these type of personal, non-lonelyplanet notes are invaluable to everybody wanting to visit a destination. While you’re at it - have a look at Neal’s 2007 Climbing Route Tick List.
Asia Shadow Play - Dum’s Kitchen, Ton Sai, Thailand. 8a+ Redpoint “Should have gotten it on 2nd go, took 6/7. Awesome, can’t wait to do it again (which is rare for a sports climb)”
Nice! Continue Reading Climbing Guide for Ton Sai.
I’m hoping Neal may do a few direct posts here on Geared Up. Over the weekend we’ll publish Neal’s “Guide to Climbing Photography”.
