Team Geared Up

DUBLIN, IRELAND (Geared Up Blog) - Spanish climber Iñaki Ochoa de Olza has reached the summit of Dhaulagiri. Meanwhile there is no more news of the 2 Kazakhs attemping going up Everest as we speak. Mr. Ochoa has just Annapurna and Kangchenjunga left to summit.

Iñaki topped-out today at 3:00 pm, local time - about 24 hours after setting off from BC, according to his home team. Iñaki has reported on bitter cold on the summit of his 12th, 8000er.

Ochoa´s climbing mate Jorge Egocheaga was half an hour away from the summit by then - both had traversed the dangerous slopes on the upper sections. It is yet unconfirmed though wheter Jorge, or anyone else in the group of climbers who departed BC yesterday, has reached the summit as well.

Inaki is currently on the way down.
