Everest in Shorts |
![]()
DUBLIN, IRELAND (Geared Up Blog) - Dutch Iceman, Wim Hof, will attempt to climb Mount Everest from the north side this year only wearing shorts on his core body. He will have a hat, gloves, boots and carry his own bag which may add a little bit of protection. Mr. Hof will use his free climbing skills on the mountain which he showed to the world by hanging between 2 hot air balloons by his middle finger at an altitude of 1500 meters.
One of Wim’s world record attempts took him to the North Pole, where he held his breath for about 6 minutes and 20 seconds below the ice. In January this year, Wim Hof ran a half Marathon (21 km) above the polar circle in Finland. He wore only a pair of shorts and no shoes. The ground (snow) temperature was 35 below. In a few months time, he’ll try something similar on Everest’s north side

I’ve been accused once or twice of ‘making light of wintery conditions’ ………..”did not look dressed for the weather” was how the race report put it.

I had gloves! They just happened to not be on my hands.
hate running with gloves on! Hands - that’s where I expel heat!
And of course any activity involving getting sweaty shouldn’t involve much clothes. Right? Now how do you do that smiley face with a cheeky wink?
mmmmh oh yeah ;-)
