Starting Place At Jungfrau Marathon |

DUBLIN (Geared Up Blog) - Well i got my letter in the post this week confirming i have a place at the start line of the Jungfrau Marathon this September. I must say im now really excited and really looking forward to the experience. I have had to pull out of this weekends Ultra Marathon in Connemara as i took a fall when skiing in Livigno and i have damaged my shoulder. Trying to run with it last week was a very painful experience. Anybody else travelling over to Switzerland for the race, leave us a comment!

I’m going and I know a few others who have done it before so I’ve been getting hints on things from where to stay to what the race is like. Apparently the altitude is a killer, people even pulling out with one kilometre to go! (I saw your name in the line up last week, you can see the list from ‘nationality’). There are 14 Irish on the start list.
I’ve booked flights to Geneva going out Thursday, returning Sunday. Apparently it’s a small town so anywhere you stay will be central.
Looks like a Summer of long, hilly runs ahead of us.
I’m off to Connemara now, shame you won’t be there!
that’s great Eoin!!! sweet. Pity about connemara.
Aisling - Your blog is super. We need to talk!
My name’s down too. Looking forward to it. (see http://micksmountain.blogspot.com) Last one to the top is a Kleine Scheidegg (whatever one of those is).
mick - great to see you blogging for a cause.
Would you do us a favour and write a guest post on Geared Up about your training?
Traveling from Minnesota to the Jungfrau. Did it a couple years ago and loved it. Strengthen your ankles for the uphill.
Thanks Lisa and Kris. Let us know how the training goes this year!
Robinb - Sorry but have only just spotted your comment from April. Duh! I belive Aisling has linked from here to my blog re the training for the Jungfrau. If you want something more specific then just let me know and I’ll give it a shot. Mick
