Monday’s Geared Up Outdoor Links

Written by admin

Here’s a quickfire list of stories I wanted to write last week - but never got the chance.

The public analysing a mass of sat images online to find a lost boat at sea.

Beyond Snow revolutionary snowboard bindings. Handy maybe, not sure about revolutionary.

Ran is climbing the Eiger at age 62. Good man. You’re my hero. Ran Previously.

We should have posted this on its own. We found the YouTube video of these mad feckers cycling on the cliffs of Moher.

Andrew McAuley is still missing (any update?) while attempting to kayak the Tasman sea. That is a long way in a kayak. I’d like to see the Plastic pod they talk about for sleeping in (Update: found a photo). McAuley was making a bid to become the first person to kayak 1600km across the Tasman Sea and was due to arrive at Milford Sound, NZ. He got within sight of it before sending out a distress signal. He was never found. Very sad. Andrew was 2005 adventurer of the year. The above photo is the last one taken on his on-deck camera recovered when they found the kayak without him.

Finally the Atlas Electronic Rope Ascender used for zipping up ropes, has been talked about all over. Fast, but huge! Worth carrying up a big wall? Probably not.

Help Me!: I want to publish my daily del.icio.us links on this blog. I found lots of ways to do it, plug-ins, delicious itself, etc. but none of them let me only publish a single tag (gearedup) as I don’t want to flood you with all my bookmarks. Can anyone suggest a solution?
