LONDON (Geared Up Blog) - The weekend news round-up of rescue stories is overshadowed by this fatal fall of a Polish tourist in Co Clare, Ireland.

A woman has died following a fall from the Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare this afternoon.

The woman, a 35-year-old Polish tourist, had been sightseeing on the cliffs with a friend when she was swept into the sea by high winds.

A search was mounted and the woman was taken from the water by the Shannon-based rescue helicopter shortly before 2pm and brought to Galway Regional Hospital. She died a short time later.

Unfortunately she was pronounced dead in hospital later that day.

Other news, a body has washed ashore in Farrihy Bay, Co Clare, Ireland. It is believed to be that of a Polish man, who went missing off the coast two weeks ago after being swept out to sea while fishing near Kilkee although could be the Latvian we reported on last week.
