Death of Dublin Marathon Competitor |

RTE News are reporting the breaking news that a man has died while running in the Dublin Marathon.
A man taking part in the Dublin City Marathon has collapsed and died.
The organisers of the event said gardaàgave the man immediate attention when he became unwell in Terenure.
He also received attention from emergency services but was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital, from suspected heart failure.
this is very sad news for such a great sporting event. Thoughts go out to the friends and family of the runner and we remind readers to exercise at the extremes taking caution, but don’t be put off.
The Marathon was won in a record time of 2.11:38 by Aleksey Sokolov breaking the current record by more than one and a half minutes.
