Connemara Marathon 2007

Written by eoinod

The International Connemara Marathon takes place next year on Sunday, April 1st. I booked place on Sunday after not a lot of thought into the Ultra Marathon which is 39.3 miles long. There is also a Half Marathon on the same day as the normal and Ultra. From reports on websites and feedback in forums i’ve seen it looks like this event is truly one everybody should visit if given the chance.

From previous participants:

Third half marathon in Connemara in row for me, and another fantastic event - the weather was perfect, the race was fun, and of course the scenery stole the show, yet again. The group of 4 I was with will definitely be back.

Superb race, unbelievable scenery,
next to perfect running weather…
The atmosphere on the road was incredible -
I’ll be back next year all going well…

Just a quick note to say well done to Ray and all the organisers, on a great event, am looking forward to next year already, may even tackle the Full marathon…. Thanks to all the support from the people on the sidelines, the musicians at mile 12 were a great boost. Shame i didnt have any spare change though…
The man who went up a hill and came down a marathon (half) runner…

Just been looking at the Ultra myself.I think it has to be done next year. Sure it would be rude not to.

(God help me!!!!)

I’ll be there along with you scared to death on the startline!

I would love to finish the ultra. My big concerns are about eating, drinking and getting rid of waste.
