Overnight Rescue Stories

Written by admin

UTV say Two youths have been rescued by a life boat in County Waterford.

The youths became stranded on rocks as they were walking along the Waterford coastline shortly after 7pm, last night.

They were cut off by the incoming tide, but were successfully rescued by Tramore Life Boat about 20 minutes later.

Good job by the Tramore crew… meanwhile back in Kerry online.ie are saying the stranded whale has successfully been refloated.

It has now rejoined its pod further out in Dingle bay.

Volunteers had been keeping the pilot bull whale wet and protecting it from the elements as experts set up a special pontoon to get it back into the sea during high tide.

The giant mammal was lifted onto the pontoon by rescuers, with the help of locals and tourists, and towed out to sea until it had recovered enough to swim off on its own.
