Approximately eight parked cars were broken into last Sunday in the Oasis area on the Military Road south of the Sally Gap. Thankfully the culprit was arrested and will be prosecuted. The Garda have appealed to the public to report any damage or theft, as this can help in securing a prosecution and it means the crime records reflect reality - important when it comes to deploying resources to patrol mountain roads! Walkers are requested not to leave any valuables in cars and in particular not to leave anything on view in the car.
