I knew the girl that drove off the pier that night. Her name was elaine maguire and she was only 32 with 3 young children. She had been suffering with depression for some time and god love her thought this was her only way out. I awoke Christmas day to a text on my phone telling me the news and I and my friends spent the day in shock. Her funeral was a sad affair and my heart went out to her children. I suffer from depression myself and think this was a brave thing for her to do, i couldn't do it. Though there are times i think i could. It would be an easy way out for me, but not for my family left behind.
