Searching through Plane Debris

We’re very lucky to have a state of the art, modern rescue station here in Howth that houses our Boat, Jeep, Van, Quad and all other equipment. We’ve a kitchen mess, ops room and office. Built only four years ago.

Looks like Doolin want in on the action, and why not!

RTE News - Call for site for Doolin rescue centre

There has been a call on the Government to provide a modern coastal rescue centre for one of the busiest coast guard teams in the country.

The 20-person volunteer rescue team based at Doolin in Co Clare, is currently operating out of what is described as a building no bigger than an average garden shed.

The Doolin coast guard team averages 30 rescue and recovery missions a year. However, they have poor facilities and cannot store their equipment at the centre.

The local team have been campaigning for the past eight years for a modern state of the art rescue centre which would match the demanding rescue work they undertake.

Although there are none of Doolin’s.
