Team Geared Up

I got the new Petzl Myo XP for my birthday yesterday :-) it’s great, brightest head torch I’ve ever used. And very impressive with 70hr battery life on Max usage with a 45m 0.2 lux. There is also a boost function, which didn’t impress me as much as I’d hoped. It’s meant to be 50% brighter while you hold down the button reaching 65m, but that didn’t seem to be very ovious in my garden! I will have to test it properly in some open space with no streetlights. I’ll post my findings here, of course along with some photos and a quick review.

I’ve foudn the buttons that hide away when you tilt it up for transport good, and the diffuser lense is very good, it really works well. But at the moment the 4 options on the on button (max, opt, min, flash) annoy me a bit, but maybe it’s something you get used to. Certainly easier to turn on with a gloved hand than my tikka which can be a pain as the button is set in.

We’ll have to see. But dead chuffed to get my hands on one.
