Scientists want to bring the kilogram into 21st century | The Register

Written by admin

We deal with units every day in our lives… The Register brough us this article today Scientists want to bring the kilogram into 21st century | The Register: “The kilo is the only international standard measurement still defined by an actual thing. The meter, for example, was originally defined as a ten-millionth of the distance from the north pole to the equator. It is now agreed to be the distance light travels in one 299,792,458th of a second.”

Isn’t it interesting that after all these years we’re measuring it from a lump of metal? It could change chemically changing weight or anything! And to replicate it you have to bring your kilo weight to it to match it! Madness!

Thinking that when we are walking in the hills, we are measuring distance and height in metres… from now on I’m going to measure it in it’s real for as the Register tells us… 10 millionth of the distance from north pole to equator… “So today I walk 12,000x(10,000,000/1) times the distance from NP to EQ”… Deadly.
