I have been given the job by the Scout Troop to build a highline/zipline/high-speed tyrolean for our camp at Easter. Today I picked & ordered the Petzl Trac for the job. I’ll let you know how things go with it. Should be an interesting turn out when coupled with the 100m of static line ordered. The pulley can travel at up to 72km/hr :-) hell yeah… Please let me know of any ideas you can think of.

What system for slowing down are you planning to use?
I am also in the process of designing a set of highspeed cable tyrolean in the upper jungle of Perú and my main worry is the brakes….

J.A. Hopkins

For brakes we used a counter balance log that gets lifted into the air about 3/4 of the way down. Then an emergency brake on the line too (carabiner anchored back to the sides)
