Team Geared Up

While doing some google search I came accross http://www.motorizedspineboard.com/ who are a company who have developed this spineboard that will crawl it’s way in under a C-Spine patient, a bit like a convoyer belt. You have to download the video from their site to get a real idea of it, but one end is very narrow, and slowly it moves in changing their angle very gently and steadily.

Once on the board, it says you may lift it into your normal strecher. I wonder how heavy the motor, re-chargeble batteries and chasis are though! It’s probably great suitablility to the football field, but maybe not the outdoors world where it would have to be carried there, and negotiate roots, rocks & uneven ground! But I still thought some of you First Aiders may be interested in it, it caught my imagination…
